We have had a great week, it went by super fast. We've been able to see a lot of progression from that family we've been teaching so we are so excited about that. We have been all over the place this week between exchanges and going to Zone Conference and Pavillion. 

We had Zone Conference in Casper this weekend so that was a great time. I got to see a ton of friends from the mission including my boy Elder Treanor (my father) I love that guy so much. Got to see elder Bailey as well who went to Lone Peak, great guy. And had an awesome interview with President McMurray, that guy just knows how to light a spiritual fire under you. He's the bee's knees, love him lots. 

We went to former stake president Lorimer's house today to do some service. He started the second rescue of the Willie and Martin handcart companies. If you don't know what that is, look it up. He told us a ton of cool stories and showed us a bunch of stuff he got from it. He is an absolute legend up here in Riverton. 

Anyway, that's about it, it was a good week for sure.

Week 17: Hollywood Summer

 

Hey guys

I don't have like anytime at all.

But this week has been great. We've been super busy and we are finally seeing our work pay off. We are teaching a family of three and that has been very promising and I've really enjoyed that. We have had some service opportunities helping people move and things like that. That has been great. 

Riverton is super fun. We're just out here by ourselves and it's been a great time so far. The members are fantastic and they take good care of us. We have zone conference in Casper this week so we are looking forward to that for sure. It's always good to hear from President and Sister McMurray.

Week 16: Mom's Spaghetti

 

 

Riverton is like a completely different planet compared to Loveland. It's a pretty small town about 2 hours west of Casper. Not much out here. But it's good. I'm enjoying it, but it's definitely an adjustment. 

Elder Powers and I have been doing well. We are teaching a lot of less actives and a couple investigators. The members of the ward are very welcoming to us and they're all very nice. Elder Treanor served up here a few months ago so everyone knows him which is great. 

Since we cover a ward and a branch, we have to go to 2 sacrament meetings that start an hour apart and are about a 30 minute drive from each other. So we have to do splits every Sunday. 

We played some tennis this morning and of course that was a good time. We have a group of about 27 missionaries going home this transfer so there's going to be a lot of changes after this one is over. But it's exciting. Hopefully we get a huge group of new guys to replace them. 

Oh and we got some snow the other day. That was weird. Welcome to Wyoming I guess. 

It's definitely been a long week but we're starting to see things pick up.

Letter to Highland 5th Ward Newsletter

Hey everyone! I hope everything is going well for you guys.

The first few months of my mission in Colorado have been awesome. I've been serving in Loveland, CO ever since I got to the mission. I have had so many great experiences, we get the privilege of seeing miracles every single day. I have learned that diligence and obedience are the keys to being a successful missionary.

If you're hesitant about serving a mission, don't be. There is no greater experience that you could ever have. Take advantage of the opportunity to serve your Heavenly Father and his children.
I have met some of the most incredible people in the mission field. One being a sister who was baptized just a few weeks ago, she had been investigating the church for about forty years. She was involved in a serious biking accident that landed her in the hospital, after receiving a priesthood blessing, she felt the spirit working inside of her and she decided to be baptized. What an amazing miracle.

Serving a mission is a priesthood duty that I hold very dear to my heart. I always think of 3 Nephi 5:13 "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life."

I know that this church is God's only true and living church on Earth, and that the Book of Mormon is most definitely the word of God.
