After four long months of being home on medical release Jake reactivated his missionary papers. Just over a week later (late on a Friday afternoon), he received a phone call from President Kent letting him know that he had been reassigned to the Colorado Fort Collins mission! I saw Jake's face as he received the news, and it had the biggest smile I've seen in a long time. He is so happy, and we are all ecstatic for him! Five days later (Wednesday morning) Bishop Forsberg called to let Jake know he would be leaving in FIVE DAYS! Obviously, we had a busy weekend of repacking bags and getting Jake ready again.

Sunday
afternoon his new Mission President, President McMurray (whose brother
lives in our ward and Jake adores!) called to talk to Jake for a few
minutes. It was a nice gesture and very reassuring! Grandma Vicki and
Grandpa Richard came to dinner (Jake's choice of lasagna and garlic
bread, with chocolate pie), then Taymo and Matt Knudsen joined us for
the setting apart. President Kent had wonderful things to say about
Jake.We feel so blessed to have had such an amazing support system of
doctors, church leaders, friends and family to help us through this
rough patch. Jake showed incredible determination and persevered through a lot of hard times to get to this point. We are SO proud of him.
Monday
morning we all left home at 7:00 to send Jake off. There weren't any
tears this time around, and Jake was in great spirits! He is off to a great start.
